DreamJourney began with the way we travel ourselves.
Two ways of seeing a place
We are Melissa and Aleksejs.
Peru is home, but we came to it from two different directions.
We notice different things.
Melissa · local familiarity
Melissa grew up in Peru, and her work keeps her traveling across Latin America and the Caribbean. She reads a place with local familiarity and with the practiced eye of someone who returns often enough to notice what changes from one arrival to the next.
Aleksejs · the eye of arrival
Aleksejs came from Europe and made Peru home. He still remembers what it feels like to arrive somewhere for the first time, and now sees Latin America both as a traveler and as someone living here.
That difference shaped DreamJourney.
Why the order matters
Long excursions, late nights, altitude, and distance change what a day can hold.
We wanted the days to work together.
Your dates, pace, and priorities shape what belongs in the route and how the days fit together.
What earns a place in the route
Famous is not the same as worth your time.
Nothing enters a DreamJourney route because it is famous alone. We look at activities, stays, and restaurants in the context of the whole trip: the time they require, where they are, how long they take to reach, when they are open, what must be booked, and what the day can realistically hold around them.
That means looking beyond the landmark itself. A mountain road can turn a short distance into half a day. Altitude can slow the morning. A fixed departure can reshape everything around it. Sometimes the place is right, but the day around it is not.
The final choice is not a list of individually good places. It is a route whose parts can work together.

A place must justify the hours it asks from the trip.
Right for the day
Distance, pace, opening hours, and what comes before and after all matter.
Checked in practice
We verify timings, booking requirements, and the details that can change a plan.
Chosen together
Activities, stays, and restaurants are considered as parts of one route.
What human-checked means
Every activity, hotel, and restaurant that enters a DreamJourney route is reviewed by a person. We look beyond stars and ratings to location, consistency, atmosphere, timing, reservations, and how each choice fits the route around it.
Checking starts with the source. We verify the details that can change a trip and record when they were checked. In Cancún, that means checking which day Museo Maya closes rather than treating every day alike. In Cusco, Machu Picchu is counted door to door, not from the moment you reach the gate. In Rio, travel time across a city divided by mountains and forest counts as part of the day. The goal is not more places. It is to understand what each place really asks of the trip.
